
LTX-2.5 Multishot Prompts: A Practical Guide to Better Cuts
Learn how to write LTX-2.5 multishot prompts with clear cuts, consistent characters, continuous audio, and a reusable three-shot prompt example.
The most important prompt-writing change in LTX-2.5 is not another quality tag. It is the ability to describe several connected shots in one generation. That creates a new question: should LTX-2.5 multishot prompts use timestamps, a numbered shot list, or natural prose?
A popular Reddit prompting discussion reported that one or two focused sentences sometimes performed better than multi-paragraph prompts. Other users have experimented with timestamps. The official LTX prompting guide recommends a more dependable baseline: write the scene chronologically and re-establish framing, identity, and audio at every explicit cut.
Why a longer prompt is not automatically better
A prompt is not a requirements document. Every added subject, action, light source, and camera move creates another condition the model can ignore or combine incorrectly.
“Short prompts work better” does not mean every prompt must fit in two sentences. It means removing conflicting or ornamental instructions before adding detail.
Start with six kinds of information:
- Shot size or framing.
- Scene and lighting.
- Identifying subject details.
- One concrete action.
- Camera movement.
- Ambient sound, music, or dialogue.
Make those elements describe one filmable moment. Add texture only after the basic result works.
Single-shot and multi-shot prompts solve different problems
A single-shot prompt describes continuous camera movement. A multi-shot prompt must also tell the model:
- Where an edit happens.
- What framing and angle appear after the edit.
- Which people, clothing, props, and lighting continue across the cut.
- Whether dialogue, music, and ambience continue or change.
Do not write only “shot two” or “then cut.” Use explicit editing language such as “a hard cut moves to a close-up of her hands” or “a match cut connects the spinning coin to a round clock.”
Start with a three-shot structure
The official guide recommends two to four shots per generation. A reliable three-shot sequence gives every shot one job:
- Establishing shot: define the location, subject, and light.
- Detail shot: reveal an action or important object.
- Reaction shot: return to the subject and complete the emotional beat.
This is easier to control than combining a turn, sprint, explosion, dialogue line, and complex camera move inside one continuous shot.

against the glass.This prompt repeats the green coat and white envelope to reinforce identity and object continuity. It keeps one lighting logic across the sequence and describes exactly how the soundtrack changes.
Should you use timestamps?
Some community experiments use labels such as 00:00–00:03 to control pacing. That can be useful after you have a stable baseline, but the official guide recommends chronological prose with named cuts instead of relying on a numbered shot list.
First make the natural-language version work. Then introduce timestamps as a controlled experiment. Adding timestamps, a shot list, complicated dialogue, and several camera moves at once makes failures difficult to diagnose.
When to use Prompt Enhancer
Prompt Enhancer is useful when your input is short, rough, or copied from a different model. It rewrites the request into a structure that LTX expects.
If you already wrote precise framing, action, identity, transitions, and audio—and want the model to follow your exact wording—leave the enhancer off. Test the same seed once with it enabled and once disabled instead of treating either setting as universally correct.
Fix common multishot failures
Character changes after a cut: Repeat the subject's two or three most important visual identifiers every time they reappear.
Screen direction becomes confused: Reduce complicated blocking and say whether the subject is on the left or right of the frame.
Audio changes unexpectedly: State whether sound continues, stops, fades, or is replaced at each cut.
Motion melts or breaks physics: Divide one complex action into two shots, or add first/last-frame and motion-control constraints.
The reusable formula
A practical LTX-2.5 multishot prompt follows this sequence:
Scene and subject → first action → explicit cut → re-establish subject and framing → describe audio continuity → final action or reaction.
Write clearly before writing richly. A prompt that a camera crew could understand is usually more useful than a pile of abstract quality tags.
